Support to the Department for the following:

• Guidance on Environmental Impact Assessment – Development of guidelines for proponents engaging the community and other stakeholders for State Significant Infrastructure and Development. The changes relate to encouraging earlier and better engagement.
• Social Impact Assessment guidelines – designed and facilitated workshops to get input from the public to the draft guidelines on exhibition. Workshops were held in regional locations – in particular those with current and future social impacts from mining.
• Preliminary Regional Issues Assessment (PRIA) – conducted the engagement for this project involving consultation with communities in Broken Hill and Wilcannia around potential future exploration of gas in the Pondie Range and Bancannia troughs.
• Member of the panel of Independent Chairpersons for Community Consultative Committees and current chairperson for Clarence Correctional Centre and Broken Hill North Mine.
